Charlotte Ann Olliff Haynes

October 29, 1952 — May 18, 2017

Charlotte Ann Olliff Haynes, 64, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, May 18, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Pavo on October 29, 1952 to the late Ellis L. & Florence Copeland Olliff.

After receiving a degree from Valdosta Technical College, Mrs. Haynes chose to become a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, painting, drawing and crocheting items for herself, family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was well known for her warm and friendly personality, never having met a stranger, and was very compassionate to all she met. She was a member of Pauline Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Chandler O. & Yolanda Haynes of Hahira; a daughter, Monica R. Haynes of Hahira; daughter in law, Sonia Haynes of Yonkers, New York; three grandchildren, Gabriel Haynes of Yonkers, NY, Tyler Haynes, of Houston, TX and Layla Haynes of Hahira; two sisters and a brother in law, Thelma & Loyd Buchanan of Greenville, FL and George Massey Wynn (Randy Hill) of Moultrie. Also surviving are three nephews, Billy Tanner, of Monticello, FL, Jared Tanner of Clyattville, and Jamie Massey of San Diego, CA. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen Haynes, a son Douglas Haynes and her husband of 41 years, Dale Westbrook Haynes.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Stapleton and his staff at Pearlman Cancer Center and also to Langdale Hospice House for the care given to Mrs. Haynes.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Justin Atchison and Pastor Paul Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Hahira on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
