Charles Richard Allen

Charles Richard Allen, 80, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Lakehaven Nursing Home.
Born on April 10, 1926 in Virgilina, VA, he was the son of the late Charlie L. and Hettie Lou Oakley Allen. He was a retired salesperson for Valdosta Cigar and Tobacco Co., formerly the Have A Tampa Co. Mr. Allen was a member of the former Forrest Street United Methodist Church and was currently a member of the First Nazarene Church.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Pike Allen of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jerry Lofton of Snellville, Judy and Donald Hodges of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Spencer Hodges, Wendy and John Ryan all of Tallahassee, Paige and Rusty Norris, Grant and Brandy Lofton all of Loganville; great grandchildren, David and Justin Ryan of Tallahassee, Taylor Norris and Allison Lofton of Loganville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Mary Allen of Cairo, Harold and Joann Allen of Albany, Alton and Donna Allen of McDonough. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Foy Allen and Julia Storey.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2007 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Sayre officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
