Charles Ernest Cosey, Sr.

Charles (Charlie) Ernest Cosey, Sr., of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. He was born in Quitman, GA, on October 13, 1946 to the late Ernest Cosey and Edith Green Cosey. Charlie enjoyed a simple lifestyle and being with his family. He coached little league and loved sports, especially football, baseball, and golf. He enjoyed a good story, fellowship with others and a great meal.

Charlie is survived by his son, Charles E. Cosey, Jr. (Patricia), of Lake Park; daughter, Melissa D. Vann (Wayne) of Valdosta; grandchildren, Jeff Bell (Kalyn), of Lake Park, Katie Adkins (Charles), of Fort Stewart, and Colten Cosey, of Lake Park; a great grandchild, Robert Adkins, of Fort Stewart; brother, Robert Cosey (Phyllis), of Gainesville, GA; sister, Sandra Root (Bill) of Wetumpka, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
