Charles Calhoun

Charles Calhoun, 59, of Valdosta, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on February 3, 1949 in Bowdon, he was the son of Thomas Landon and Ivy Dell Dyer Calhoun.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Calhoun of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Steve Mathews of Sarasota, FL; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Burt Calhoun of Tampa, FL, Christopher and Jacquie Calhoun of Muscadine, AL; stepson, Levi Vinson of Valdosta. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Megan Ferrell, Aaron Thomas Mathews, Ryan Mathews, Morgan Calhoun, Kaley Calhoun, Damon Calhoun, Ryder Calhoun; a great grandchild, Jayden Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Bessa Calhoun of Roopville. Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by a brother, James Only Calhoun and a sister, Lavelle Ragsdale.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Carson McLane Funeral Home
