Cecil Marion Scarborough

May 20, 1913 — March 25, 2009

Cecil M. Scarborough, 95, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Smith Northview Hospital. He was born in Dexter, GA to the late Joseph Herman and Marietta Adams Scarborough on May 20, 1913. Mr. Scarborough was a member of Faith Baptist Church, a retired civil service employee from Moody Air Force Base, was a painter and a furniture refinisher.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Scarborough of Valdosta, one daughter, Cecilia S. Mauney of Elgin, SC, two granddaughters, Nell Mauney and Martha Ferguson. Mr. Scarborough is preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Mauney, two brothers, Carl Scarborough and Harvey Scarborough, five sisters, Eunice Scarborough, Hazel Haneke, Merrian Walker, Virginia Burkhard and Ruth Scarborough.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Wisehart and Reverend Mickey Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Faith Baptist Church, 2700 North Forrest Street, Valdosta, GA 31602. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
