CMSgt Ronald E. Smith, 76, of Valdosta died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on March 8, 1941 in Hartsfield, GA. CMSgt Smith was retired from the United States Air Force, a member of Faith Baptist Church and he loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Ann Smith, daughter and son in law, Sherryl Lynn and Dwight A. Ray, son and daughter in law, Michael and Sharon Smith, all of Valdosta, his mother, Bonnie Elizabeth Smith of Funston, four grandchildren, Matthew Ray (Kelsey), Mechelle Keen (Richard), Randi Smith and Dalton Smith, three great grandchildren, Tanner Ray, Emerson Keen and Harper Keen, brother and sister in law, Jerry and Barbara Smith, sister and brother in law, Peggy and Lavon Miller, all of Funston, several nieces and nephews. His father, Silas Edward Smith, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Mickey Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. prior to the service.
