Betty R. Proctor, 76, of Adel, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, at Cook Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born May 16, 1938 in Marion County, AL, a daughter of the late Grady and Alma Franks Flippo, and graduated from Morven High School. Betty was a lifelong member of the Baptist church, a longtime caregiver and enjoyed helping people.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy Lamar Proctor of Valdosta, and Randy and wife Louise Proctor of Adel; two sisters, Virginia Harris of Hahira, and Shirley and husband Raymond Bennett of Quitman; and a special cousin, Talmadge and wife Dot Flippo of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Proctor; and a granddaughter, Tonya Proctor.

The funeral service for Ms. Betty will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Chapel of Martin-McLane Funeral Home, Hahira, with Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Hahira. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
