Betty Jean Best

BETTY JEAN BEST, 79, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Langdale Hospice House after a short illness.

She was born November 4, 1930 in Naylor, and was retired from Coastal Plains Childcare where she taught for 18 years.

She is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Tyson of Valdosta, and Katie and Gerald Weeks of Valdosta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennie W. Connell and Mary Lou of Blairsville, and Edward L. Connell, Jr. and Sandra of Stockton; three step-daughters, Kay Goodman, Lee Best, and Donna and husband Gerald Simmons, all of the Green Cove Springs, FL area; two half-brothers, Carlton and wife Myrtice Connell of Valdosta, and Eddie Connell of Valdosta; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Kay Parker of Rome. She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Connell, her husband, Hilliard B. Best, son, David Jordan, and brother, Harold Connell.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Best will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 1, 2010, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Best's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Please consider memorial contributions to Langdale Hospice House, P.O.
