Betty Jane Barlow Smith

Betty Jane Barlow Smith, 88, of Valdosta died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Langdale Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born in Wilkinson County, Georgia on July 31, 1926 to the late Samuel Franklin and Ruby Olivia Waters Barlow. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a retired registered nursing administrator with South Georgia Medical Center.
Survivors include her two daughters and a son in law, Diane and Joe Rodgers, Dawn Smith all of Valdosta; two grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Cornelius of Nashville, GA and Tad Rodgers and his fiancé, Corrie Williams of Lake Park; two great grandchildren, Miranda Cornelius and Reagan Cornelius two great great grandchildren, Jaylen Williams and Bryce Baskin; her brother, DuPree Barlow of Warner Robins, GA; her nieces, Wendy and Michael Ross of Lawrenceville and Joy Clickener of Warner Robins, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle T. Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bob Moon officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 220 N.
