Bertie E. Davis

Bertie E. Davis, 93, of Douglas, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas. Born on November 28, 1914 in Douglas, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lucy Minix Stone. She was a lifelong resident of Statenville and was retired from O&I Bag Plant after working for 25 years. She lived her last 4 years under the loving care of her sister, Bessie Davis and her niece, Brenda Morris. Mrs. Davis was a member of Statenville Church of God.

She is survived by her sister, Bessie Davis of Douglas; grandsons, William Sirman, Jr., Daryl Kinsey, Charles Kinsey, Mark Kinsey, Terry Fennell, Ricky Fennell; granddaughters, Cindy Mode and Donna Evans; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ed" Davis and daughters, Mona Gail Davis, Ann Kinsey and Dorothy Fennell.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Statenville Church of God with Rev. Don Harper and Rev. Jamie Register officiating. Burial follow in Statenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
