Berl D. Pulliam

Berl D. Pulliam, 84, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 12, 1932 in Effingham, Illinois to the late Russell and Clara Pagel Pulliam. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the time of the Korean Conflict. He retired from PCA as the Administrative Manager. Mr. Pulliam was a past member of the Jaycees in Wisconsin and a former member of the Men's Club at the church he had attended in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. He was currently a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. He was kind, caring, stoic, logical and patient and was a solid anchor for his family.

Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Barbara L. Pulliam of Valdosta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Keith Adams of Moultrie, Sherry and Fred Buescher of Valdosta and Terri and Rick Shierling of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren Adams of Moultrie, Brian and Sarah Adams also of Moultrie, Whitney and Andrew Parks of Tampa, Florida, Adam Buescher of Atlanta, and Cameron and Shea Buescher of Valdosta; a great-grandson, Nicholas Shipley of Moultrie; his sister, Marlene Fulton of Salem, Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Anita Lowry of Gainesville, Florida; brother-in-law, Steve Lowry of Hawthorne, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patty L. Goossen, and his parents-in-law, Lepton and Nina Lowry.

Services for Berl D. Pulliam will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. V.L. Daughtry and Rev. Hale Bishop officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
