Barbara Gean Riner

Barbara Gean Riner, 83, of Hahira died on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira on Sept. 15, 1933 to the late Wylie and Jewel Lee Jones Harris. Mrs. Riner retired from Drumheller and was a retired self-employed personal caregiver. She loved her roses, fishing and her family and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tim Coombs of Hahira; step-sons, Rick and June Riner of Brooks County and Gene Coombs of Cecil, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris and Carla Coombs of Asheville, North Carolina, Sarah and Forrest Davies, and Rebekah and Seth Jensen all of Columbus, Georgia, Racheal and Matthew Lynn of Pelham, Georgia, Tracy Riner of Florida, Rick, Jr. and Tracy Riner of Pelham, Jeannett and Doug Newland of Maryland; two sisters, Marie Smith of Branford, Florida and Mary Elizabeth Gibbs of Evansville, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Bobbie Harris of Lake Butler, Florida, Jerry and Ruby Harris of Hahira, David and Cheryl Harris of Plant City, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Mary Minton of East Dublin, Georgia, and Virginia Harris of Hahira; and special niece and her husband, Becky and Buddy Williams of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George (G.R.) Riner; four sisters, Margaret Hightower, Lauraette Harris, Wanda Gaskins, and Dorothy Hodges; three brothers, I.W. Harris, George Harris, and Jay Harris.
Services for Barbara Gean Riner will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
