Artie Bland

Artie P. Bland, 92, of Valdosta died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Wrightsville, GA on November 1, 1923 to the late William Thomas and Lougenia Clarke Page and had lived in Valdosta since 1954 but has been a resident of Langdale Place for the last two years. Mrs. Bland was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. She was also a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1955 and is the former secretary of some of the Sunday School Classes.
Mrs. Bland is survived by her two daughters and son in law, Judy B. and Tom Tomberlin of Callaway, VA and Dorothy L. Hall of Southaven, MS. She is also survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, Elizabeth T. and Dempsey Brown of Boones Mill, VA, Gregory A. Tomberlin of Fairfax, VA, David and Marnee Hall of Old Hickory, TN, Dennis and Brandi Hall of Southaven, MS and Darrell and Denise Hall of Hahira; as well as ten great grandchildren, Page Brown, Alex Tomberlin, Henry Mack Hall, Turner Davis Hall, Charleigh Hall, Ander Hall, Ethan Hall, Chandler Hall, Brinson Hall, Evan Hall as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Mrs. Bland was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, H.M. Bland and twelve brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Bland's burial will be held at 4 pm on Wednesday at West View Cemetery in Wrightsville, GA.
