Aristeene Register Kelly

Aristeene R. Kelly, 82, of Raleigh died on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Rex Healthcare. A native of Lowndes County she was born on August 11, 1925, to the late Guilford Troy and Vera Stallings Register. In addition to her parents, her husband, Raymond F. Kelly; grandson, Benjamin Kelly, brothers, Prescott and Troy Register, Jr. sisters, Narene Sikes and Rena Me Myddleton all preceded her in death.

Aristeene was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Valdosta and most recently Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. She moved to Raleigh just five years ago to be near her family. Professionally, Mrs. Kelly was employed as a loan officer with Citizens and Southern National Bank (Bank of America) for thirty three years. Aristeene was also a strong community leader with an active social life as well. She was a member of the Garden Club of Georgia and America, participating at the local and national levels.

Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Fred and Amy Kelly of Raleigh, NC., daughter and son in law, Pam and Jeff Stocks of Raleigh, brothers and sisters in law, Ashley and Martha Register of Donaldsonville, Ray and Brenda Register of Valdosta; granddaughters, Lily Grace Kelly, Kelly and Emily Stocks.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Valdosta. The Reverend Dr. Tom Sikes will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
