Anthony Joseph Ferrantino

ANTHONY JOSEPH FERRANTINO, 46, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from complications with asthma.

Tony was born August 4, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Joyce Campanali Ferrantino and the late Joseph Ferrantino. He grew up in Brooklyn and at the age of 18, he moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where he lived for twenty-two years, before moving to Indiana. Tony and his family came to Valdosta three years ago. He has been a cook for the past twenty-eight years, and most recently at Waffle House, Lake Park, for the past two and a half years.

Tony was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He loved growing flowers and vegetables, enjoyed being outdoors and hunting deer and rabbit.

Tony was a devoted and loving husband and father to his wife of five years, Deena Ferrantino, and their daughter, Celina Ferrantino; he is also survived by two sons and a daughter, Travis and Kayla Ferrantino of St. Petersburg, FL, and Jeremiah Ferrantino of NY; his mother, Joyce Ferrantino of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Gina Keely of Brooklyn, NY; two step-children, Chad and Cheyenne Godby of Valdosta; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Iris Lister; brother-in-law, Ike Lister; and a niece, Katie Lister, all of Jennings, FL; and his Waffle House family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, Lake Park, with Mr. Jerry Carter officiating.
