Anna Lou Richardson Studdard

July 30, 1909 — October 9, 2007

ANNA LOU RICHARDSON STUDDARD, 98, of Valdosta died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on July 30, 1909 in Walton County to the late Paul and Anna Richardson and had been living in Valdosta for the past several years with her daughter, Frances Hanson. Mrs. Studdard was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Walton County since her childhood. Anna Lou loved people and was never too busy to help someone in need. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in her yard and garden. Anna Lou always grew beautiful flowers and enjoyed showing other people her garden and flowers. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a very important part of her life. She enjoyed cooking and having people over to eat. Mrs. Studdard enjoyed eating fried chicken legs everyday. Many people said “She brought a ray of sunshine to other peoples lives.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Hanson of Valdosta, her grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Bubba Nolan, Teresa and Jim Stamschror, Larry Hanson all of Valdosta, John Oglesby, Jerry Oglesby, Jr., Donald Ogelsby, Cindy Johnson, Sherry and David Carpenter all of Social Circle, Ketrina and Marvin O’Kelly of Conyers, 19-great grandchildren including Dusty (Kelli) Wilkes, Kara Hope Hanson, Dillon Hanson, Andy Stamschror and Scott Stamschror all of Valdosta, 8-great great grandchildren, her sister, Hazel Knight, brother and sister in law, William and Margaret Richardson and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Studdard, two daughters, Jean Oglesby and Evelyn Linenbroker, three grandchildren, one brother, Paulie Richardson.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Walton County with the Rev. Don Malcolm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until service time. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to United Hospice, New Harvest United Methodist Church or the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Walton County.
