Mrs. Ann Shaw Dalton, wife of the late Worth Davis Dalton, entered into rest on Friday July 12, 2013 at the Fellowship Home in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born September 3, 1927 to William Marvin Shaw and Sarah Laura Beopple Shaw. She was a graduate of Central High School in Shelbyville, TN and of Middle Tennessee State University. Mrs. Dalton worked in Civil Service at Fort Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Florida and Fort Gordon, Georgia. She taught business classes at The Academy of Richmond County, and was a member of Trinity-On-the-Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dalton was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Davis Dalton, and her sisters, Lucile Shaw Minchew and Mildred Shaw Allen. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Dalton Smith, son in law, Dean M. Smith, and their four children Abbie, Josie, Katie and Dalton, all of Valdosta. Additional survivors include three nephews, William H. Minchew, J. Randall Minchew, and Samuel S. Allen. Graveside services will be held at Westover Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Friday, July 19 with the Rev. Dr. Mike Cash officiating. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends in the chapel of Trinity-on-the-Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity-On-The-Hill United Methodist Church in Augusta or to Hospice of South Georgia in Valdosta.
