Ann Hiers Sutton

Ann Hiers Sutton, 62, of Valdosta died on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida following a brief illness. She was born in Valdosta on February 26, 1952. She had been employed with Wal-Mart as a greeter and also worked in the lawn and garden department. She enjoyed working with her roses, crocheting, camping, and most especially, going to the beach. She loved organized sports of all kinds and was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. Ann was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughter and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Spradlin of Valdosta; two granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Melton of Nashville, Georgia and Mateland Ellen Spradlin of Valdosta; two step-grandsons, Brandon Douglas Spradlin of Valdosta and Kristopher Lee Spradlin of Atlanta; her mother, Lillian J. Hiers of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Avy Hiers also of Valdosta; nephews, Christopher Hiers, Ray Perez and Clifford Hiers all of Valdosta; a niece, Kimberly H Coker of Ozark, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father, L.B. Hiers and her brother, Burnice (Skeeter) Hiers.

Services for Ann Hiers Sutton will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Michael officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
