Angela P. Carter

Angela P. Carter, 71, of Naylor, died on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at her home. Born in Fitzgerald on November 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Keith William Chaple and Vesta Floyd Chaple. Angela was employed as a switchboard operator with civil service at Moody Air Force Base. She was a Baptist.
Survivors are her son and daughter in law, Chris and Edie Cleghorn of Adel; daughter and son in law, Teresa and Kevin Farr of Naylor; grandchildren, Shae Mayne, Grant Cleghorn, Grace Farr and Sarah Farr; sisters and brother in law, Anne and Gerald Ragsdale of Glennville, Karen Rakestraw of Fitzgerald; brother and sister in law, Lance and Phyllis Chaple of Oxford; several nieces and nephews. Angela was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Carter, and a brother in law, David Rakestraw.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland. Reverend Austin DeLoach will officiate. Mrs. Carter will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
