Alphia Jeanette Massey, 58, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in Marietta. Born on July 13, 1948, in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late Terrell Edward and Louise Gay Massey. Jeanette was a retired hotel manager and had managed the Big 7 on Highway 84.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Debra Ovaert of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Andrea (Gordan) Strom, Brandon Ovaert, Eric Ovaert, Patrick Ovaert; one great grandchild, Zoey Strom; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Irvin Grier of Valdosta, JoAnn and W. C. Williams of Valdosta, Patricia and Gerald Jewell of Valdosta, Joyce Rucker of Valdosta, Faye and Billy Watson of Albany; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Nona Faye Massey of Atlanta, Steve and Diane Massey of Valdosta, Floyd and Grace Massey of Newnan, and Claude and Linda Massey of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Edward Massey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2007 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. David Nelson officiating.
