Alberta Dodds, 86, formerly of Marion, IN passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Eldorado Hospital in Tucson, AZ after a short illness. She was born on October 26, 1919 in Marion to the late William and Clara Smith. She is survived by two younger sisters, Minnie Henson and Wilma Bradley of Paris IL and Marion, IN respectively.
She and her husband, the late Samuel Howard Dodds, Jr., came to make their home in Valdosta in 1972 where they started and operated the “Mr. Twist” restaurant. She lived a long and fruitful life and was known by all for her sense of humor and love of life.
She leaves with loving memories a son, Allen Dodds and wife Beth of Valdosta; granddaughter, Lisa Herndon, husband Michael, and three great grandchildren of Valdosta; grandson, Scott Dodds also of Valdosta; granddaughter Laura Beaty and one great granddaughter of Valdosta; granddaughter Rhonda Dodds of Los Angles, CA; granddaughter Angie Seymour, husband John, and three great grandchildren of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter Abigail Atkinson, husband Tracy, and two great grandchildren of Valdosta; grandson Perry Branch, wife Jenny and two great grandchildren of Boston, MA.
