Albert Thomas "Tom" Evans

Albert Thomas "Tom" Evans, 85, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1932 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of the late Arthur Thomas and Ora Mae Van Hook Evans. Tom was a self employed truck driver, who also repaired lawn mowers. Tom enjoyed golf, fishing, playing pool, and was a lifetime Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan. Tom loved spending time with family, and lending a helping hand when needed.
Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Elizabeth Evans; his children, Shellie and Harold McLeod, Debora Chaney, and Albert Thomas Evans, Jr.; his grandchildren, Renee (Danny) McLeod, Tiffiny (Don) Sheddan, Chad (Kilia) McLeod, Brandi (Reid) Mobley, Crystal Chaney, Leigh Ann (Nick) Combass, and Misty (Josh) McClanahan; his thirteen great grandchildren; his siblings, Kent Evans, Judy Clifford, Patricia Steadar, and Larry and Teresa Evans; his brothers-in-law, Johnny and Cynthia Collins, and Buddy and Nancy Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his son Billy Wayne Evans, and five siblings.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, with Pastor Buck Crumley officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
