Albert John Nussbaum, 82, of Valdosta, passed away on March 22, 2018 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. He was born on February 13, 1936 in Huntington, NY to the late John Emil and Alice Imbi Wesick Nussbaum. Mr. Nussbaum retired from PCA after 30+ years of service in numerous positions. He was a member of Lake Park Methodist Church. He was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, and was outstanding at solving crossword puzzles. He was an Atlanta Braves fan. He served in the Civil Air Patrol. He was a former member of a local CB radio club and attended several conventions. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was fishing or just doing yard work. He enjoyed watching game shows, crime dramas, and old westerns. He was an excellent woodworker and gifted his family and friends with numerous custom-built items over the years.
Mr. Nussbaum is survived by his daughter, Kathy Nussbaum Cree of Valdosta; his son, Tony Nussbaum (Daphni) of Asheville, NC; grandchildren: Melissa Atkins (Russell) of Lake Park; Jamey Cree of Valdosta; Randy Nussbaum, Drew Nussbaum, and Hayden Nussbaum, all of Asheville, NC; Amber Karnes and Heidi Walblay, both of Virginia Beach, VA; great-granddaughter, Raylen Brown of Lake Park; siblings: Henry Nussbaum (JoAnn) of Grants Pass, OR; Ed Nussbaum (Elaine) of Nashua, NH; Mary Jackson of Grants Pass, OR; Alice Devane (Tommy) and Susan Roberson (Cecil) both of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Andy Nussbaum, and his wife of 57 years, Evalane Lee Nussbaum.
