Aaron Puckett

September 23, 1969 — September 27, 2021

On Monday September 27, 2021, Aaron Puckett, loving husband, father and grandfather passed from this life into glory. Aaron was born at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia in 1969 and called both Chesapeake VA and Anchorage Alaska home. He was a graduate of Anchorage Christian School and completed course work in Religious studies at both Georgetown University and Liberty University. Aaron was a proud Air Force veteran who served during the Gulf War in Kuwait as a munitions specialist. IYAAYAS! Aaron later went on to a 25-year career as an IT Specialist and computer programmer.
Aaron was a passionate Washington Redskins fan his entire life which was as important to him as his favorite 1980’s hair metal music and his dogs! Most recently he was one of the founding members of The Page Turner’s Book Club of Valdosta.
All who knew Aaron felt his quiet, deep faith and great love for his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Although a quiet man, Aaron loved and cared deeply for his friends and fellow veterans; always ready to help and serve the veteran community in anyway needed. He had a thirst for knowing and understanding God’s word and that showed in everything he did.
Aaron was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Lane Carroway Puckett as well as his maternal grandparents, Allen and Delsie Carroway and his paternal grandparents Jay and Ossie Puckett. Aaron is survived by his wife Susan Hamilton Puckett, his son Richard Seamus Hamilton and his wife Heather Hamilton and Aaron’s grandchildren Richard Coleman and Emily Ryan Hamilton; and his sons Austin Timothy Puckett and Matthew Travis Puckett; as well as his mother-in-law, Marjorie Hamilton, his brother in laws; John and Misty Hamilton; Rick Hamilton and Tara Cianfrani. Aaron is also survived by his father and stepmother Harvey and Teresa Puckett, his sister Debbie Puckett Smith, his half-brother Trevor Puckett and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to America’s Vetdogs for a service dog, like the one Aaron received, to be sponsored, named and given to a veteran or first responder in memory of Aaron.
A memorial service celebrating Aaron’s life will take place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Trinity Anglican Church in Thomasville GA at 1:00pm. A streaming link will be provided for virtual attendance. Arrangements are being handled by Carson McLane Funeral Home of Valdosta GA.
