Betty Louise Blair Coggins, 82, of Lake Park, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born on January 5, 1935 in Jennings, FL to the late Roland & Marie Swilley Blair. She graduated from Echols County high school and attended college in Jacksonville, FL. She worked at the Bank of Ocala as a manager in the accounting department, and also worked for Haverty's Furniture Company before returning to Lake Park, GA. She was then employed by Horace Stephenson Jewelers in Valdosta, GA. She attended the Lake Park Church of God and enjoyed vacations in the mountains, cooking, and working in her flower garden.
Survivors include one sister, Montez Howell of Mayday; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Blair of Jennings, FL, and Nita Blair of Charleston, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coggins was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Alonzo W. Coggins, and four brothers, Rudolph Blair, Vasko Blair, John Lewis Blair, and Larry Blair.
Mrs. Coggins wanted to thank her very loving and loyal sister, Montez Howell, a special niece, Lynette Howell Marten, and a dear friend, Marie Weaver Boles for all the love, support, and dedication given to her during her time of need. The family would also like to thank the Langdale Hospice House employees and staff for all their love and support.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5th at 4pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Pastor Keith Sandlin and Brother Jimmy Dowdy will be officiating.
