Virginia Hill Marchant, 91, of Valdosta died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Tifton, Georgia on May 14, 1926 to the late Charlie R. and Jessie Irene Hill. Mrs. Marchant was a Baptist and was retired as the Business Manager for Gunter Plumbing.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Castleberry of Hahira, Linda Gunter Nelms of Hahira; her grandchildren, Melanie (Clay) Fees of Valdosta, Amanda (Randy) Green, Michael (Lorri) Nelms all of Hahira, Jason Nelms of Valdosta, Justin Nelms of Hahira; her great grandchildren, Rebecca Lamb of Valdosta, Ashlyn West, Kalyn West both of Hahira, Ansley Nelms of Hahira, Dylan Nelms, Braydan Nelms, Cayson Nelms, Jackson West all of Hahira; her brother and sister in law, Charles Roscoe and Christine Hill of Marietta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Oren Marchant and three sisters, Lillian Paulk, Betty Paulk, Marie Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
