Glen E. Berger, 78, of Valdosta died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Holly Hill Nursing Home. He was born in Perry, Oklahoma on August 28, 1938 to the late Loyd Enos Berger and Mabel Reed Berger. Mr. Glen E. Berger was retired from the United States Air Force after serving twenty years and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. After his military career he worked at Morningside Baptist Church, then at Bayliner Boats as a trim specialist and a security guard. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Berger is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Janice E. Berger of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Donald E. and Karen Berger of Albany, GA, Kevin E. and Rosemary Berger of Barstow, CA, daughter and son in law, Anita and Bill Stablein of George Town, TX, grandchildren, Mathew White (Lillian) of Macon, Caleb Berger of Albany, Jason Depue, Mike Depue and Chris Depue of Barstow, CA, Adam Yadama (Lauren) of Georgetown, TX, Rachael Yadama of Dallas, TX, Ricky Boyd of Ray City, Lynn Boyd of Hahira and Teresa Conley (John) of McRae, fifteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Berger and Les Berger, three sisters, Evelyn Brown, Marjie Wolff and Jeannie Hawthorne. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth Berger and Vernon Berger and one son, James Berger.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at two p. m. at the graveside at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Lee Graham officiating. Full military honors will be conducted. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 4690 Shiloh Road, Hahira, GA 31632.
