Isabel Dameron Neal, age 100, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Hilton Head, SC, on August 19, 2017.
She is survived by a sister, Phyllis Hayes (Bill) Tocca, Georgia, her daughter, Becky Guin (Gordon) of Hilton Head, SC, granddaughter Kerry Baldwin of Charlotte, NC, and a grandson Robert Guin, Jr., of Perry, GA. She leaves behind 5 great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ralph L. Neal, parents, Claude and Lula Dameron, sisters, Melba Jones and Leadell Williams, and brother Ray Dameron who was Killed In Action during WW II.
Isabel graduated from Valdosta High School and the Grady Memorial School of Nursing in Atlanta as a Registered Nurse (RN), class of 1941. She worked as the Office Nurse for Dr. Conrad Williams in Valdosta for over 25 years. She later retired from the South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC). She was a long time member of the Lee Street Baptist Church.
She enjoyed her post-retirement career as a Ukulele player/chorus member in the original Valdosta Strummers musical group.
A small graveside service will be held on Friday, September 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
