Elizabeth Joy (Lizzie) Lohmar, 21, of Lawrenceville passed away February 8th from injuries sustained in a February 5th auto-pedestrian accident in Valdosta, GA.
Lizzie was born in Englewood, CO on August 24th, 1992 before moving to Lawrenceville with her family in January 1994. She was a 2010 graduate of Collins Hill High School, in Suwanee, where she achieved academic and athletic honors as a member of the state-champion cross-country and state-qualifier soccer teams.
At Valdosta State University, she majored in mathematics and was treasurer in the local chapter of the Mathematical Association of America. Lizzie was an active member of the Kappa Beta chapter of Phi Mu sorority, where she served as corresponding secretary and treasurer. She played for the university's inaugural NCAA intercollegiate women's soccer team and volunteered as an assistant soccer coach at Hahira Middle School.
She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Earle and Kathleen Moss of Orange Park, FL and paternal grandparents, James and Patricia Lohmar of Richardson, TX. Lizzie is survived by her parents, Peter and Margery Lohmar of Lawrenceville, brother James Lohmar of Charleston, SC, sister Sarah Lohmar and fiancé Shawn Berglund of Valdosta, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11th at CarsonMcLane Funeral Home, 2215 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA 31602. Requiem Mass will be said at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 12th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 Gornto Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
