Virginia Forte Weldon

Virginia Forte Weldon, 89, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Home in Jasper, Florida. Born on March 3, 1929 in Moore Haven, Florida, she was a daughter of Thomas A. Forte, Sr. and Minion Hendry. A homemaker, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac Melton Weldon.
Survivors are her daughters and sons in law, Joan and Skip Gibson of Valdosta, Gloria and Wayne Farmer of Thorsby, Alabama, Shirley and Tommy Harnage of Byron; grandchildren, Jason and Trina Gibson of Valdosta, Michael Farmer of Steinhatchee, Florida, Lisa and L.D. Pridgen of Valdosta, Kerri Carter of Macon, and Hillary and Lee Roebuck of Byron; twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Mrs. Weldon was predeceased by two brothers, June Forte, and Bobby Forte, and two sisters, Bernice Vigil and Mitty Kitchen.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Mickey Wisehart will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
