Valerie Kay (Gaskins) Sikes

Valerie Kay (Gaskins) Sikes, 52, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was born on January 25, 1965 in Avon Park, FL to Betty Harris Gaskins and the late Kenneth Gaskins. Mrs. Sikes was a homemaker who enjoyed yardwork, woodworking, and mowing grass. She loved to crochet, shopping at Lowes, and eating Dairy Queen ice cream.
She is survived by her husband Larry Fountain, Sr., of Lake Park, her mother Betty Gaskins, of Naylor, her sons, Kenny Sikes (Nicole), of Valdosta, and Larry Fountain, Jr. (Paige), of Tallahassee, FL, her grandchildren, McKenzie Sikes, Morgan Sikes, and Walt Sikes, her sister, Rhonda Gaskins (Matt) Kelly, of Lake Park, and her nephews, James (Heather) Farmer, and Brandon Bullard, and her baby Missy. She is preceded in death by her father.
A funeral service for Mrs. Gaskins will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Brother George Ehling officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
