Martha Gwendolyn Gay

Martha Gwendolyn Gay, 78, of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Langdale Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born on July 4, 1940 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Ernest B. Cox, Sr. and Willie Brown Cox. She was an active member of Northside Baptist Church where she touched many lives as a Sunday school teacher and led the Joy Makers group for many years. She was a former employee at the Valdosta Daily Times and the owner of Reliable Courier Services. She loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
Martha is survived by her husband, Bobby Franklin Gay of Valdosta; her daughters and son in law, Lynn Eager of Valdosta, Karen and Tyler Carson of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Brody Carson and Marleigh Carson both of Valdosta; her sister and brother in law, Judy and Ronnie Howell of Doerun, GA; and her beloved cat, Bonnie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11am at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Foster and Dr. Gary Woods officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6-8pm at Northside Baptist Church.
