Gloria A. Price

Gloria A. Price, 84, of Valdosta, Ga. passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 29, 2018. She was born in Valdosta on April 26th, 1934 to the late Carrie Estelle O’Neal Willis and Collis Echols Willis. Gloria was an Air Force wife for over twenty years before establishing her own career as a District Manager for Avon Products, Inc. for many years. Among many other life experiences, she was most proud of her time spent serving other people by volunteering and hosting gatherings. She was a graduate of Valdosta High School and was proud to call herself a “Marching Cat” where she served as a band majorette. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta, and formerly Crossroads Baptist Church.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Houston Bernon Price, Sr. After getting married in 1952, Houston and Gloria lived throughout the southeast United States and Puerto Rico while he served in the U.S. Air Force. During that time, they raised three sons, Houston Jr., Greg, and Dan. Houston Sr. passed in 2013 and Gloria anxiously awaited her departure to join him in Heaven. She is there now.
She is survived by her three sons, Houston B. Price, Jr. of Valdosta, Ga., Gregory N. Price of Monroe, La., and Daniel M. Price and wife Patricia Davis Price of Saint Cloud, Fl. Also, her sister Mary Lee Dennis (Clif) and brother Gary Willis (Brenda) reside in Georgia. She has four granddaughters, Melissa Price and Anna Price, both of Monroe, La., and Amber (Holton) Breen and Alyssa Price, both of Saint Cloud, FL. She also has seven great-grandchildren. Gloria has many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends in Valdosta and elsewhere. She also has two remaining aunts, June O’Neal of Valdosta and Glennie O’Neal of Athens, Ga. She was blessed to have a special caregiver and friend in Bobbie Rawls of Valdosta, GA.
The funeral for Gloria will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 in the chapel of Cason McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Schappaugh and Dr. Gary Woods will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the National Stroke Association, www.stroke.org, or 9707 East Easter Lane, Suite B.
